Midtown Monday: Visit Nature in the Middle of Midtown

Living in urban Midtown Indianapolis, you may think you have to travel far to be surrounded in nature. But among the many hidden gems tucked around Midtown, lie two Parks and Nature Preserves: Marott Park and Holliday Park- around 100 acres of natural beauty kept in its original wild state.

Hike on the picturesque trails, take your dog through the creek in Marott Park when its 90 degrees out, visit the ruins at Holliday Park, go bird watching (if that’s your thing)…..or just enjoy being outside! Holliday Park also has one of Midtowner’s favorite and hard-to leave playgrounds in the city (I personally never wanted to leave the spider’s web when I was a kid).

So go out and enjoy a true nature experience in an urban environment.  It’s one of the many reasons we LOVE Midtown- it has something for everyone.

And for you runners out there- This Sunday, March 21st is the Holliday Park Trail Run.  A 5 mile course along the trails from Holliday Park to Marott Park, for runners of all ages. There is a 1 mile Children’s run and Tot Trot as well. Click HERE to register and for more information!  Registration begins at 8 am at Holliday Park.

Marott Park is located at 7350 N College Ave, just east of Park Tudor. Holliday Park is located at 6363 Spring Mill Road.
